Google Apps with NSA implants...

Edward Snowden is yet again advocating privacy and has revealed that the NSA planned to put Implants into Apps in Google and Samsung stores.

To achieve this they needed access to your phone. To achieve this they planned to hijack the lines between you - the user - and the App-store.

This would ensure the spreading of the spyware.

This is a Five eyes project so the US got help from Canada, New Zealand, UK and Australia.

All these countries think this is an OK approach.

If this would be a general approach to infect every phone on the globe - then I would respectfully suggest that you replace your politicians - because they are costing you your freedom.

If it is a targeted strategy against a terrorist group or pedophiles then most people would accept it.

Given the history here; it is more than likely (beyond reasonable doubt?) that every app and every phone would be targeted.

The Agencies of the Five Eyes have discovered weaknesses that they wanted to exploit in the name of national security.
The problem is that they did not report these weaknesses back to Samsung and Google, so theoretically these weaknesses could be used against you from Russian or Chinese agencies too...
Where is the security in that?

The project is called:
IRRITANT HORN,

It is not clear from the documents if this project actually was launched - what do you think?

It is clear that the Canadian CSE uses the same lame excuse as their colleagues.
CSE does not direct its foreign signals intelligence activities at Canadians or anywhere in Canada

Sure we get that - That is a job for the NSA - so that the CSE can get the data from them. The CSE is busy collecting US data so that the NSA can claim the same...

The Canadian CBC broke the story here.

You can find the documents here

This is retarded. First off, the amount of actual terrorist traffic generated by smartphones must be 0.00005% of phone traffic or less... hacking as many phones as possible in order to trap that traffic is stupid (and clearly not their real intention). What concerns me even more is that most people just don't care. I have started asking friends and family if they know who Edward Snowden is and frankly, almost none of them do.

Now I am not a terrorist, and I have no plans to drive a plane in to a building, or earn the adoration of 72 virgins... but I think it is fair to expect that my phone conversations, emails, text messages, and photos are not archived by anybody's government. Unfortunately this is simply not possible since the vast bulk of people I interact with use things like GMail, Hotmail, iPhones, Samsung phones, and Angry Birds. How should those of us who do care about privacy help others understand the importance of not having their lives recorded for later retrieval and scrutiny by whoever controls the database at the time?

Eggzactly! :s
Freedom loving sites - like this one - can continue to inform about what is going on but it is hardly in the class of a governmental information campaign.

And that is not likely to happen. "Can you keep a secret" is the CSE slogan; probably meaning this one and its likes.

It sure is important to keep secrets in that world - I get that - but keeping violations of the human rights a secret - is not what anyone voted for.

Many people will not care before it is too late - because they were never properly informed. :wall:

To me, terrorism is greatly exaggerated.

It is there. There are people in this world that find it an acceptable form of communication to fly planes into buildings. :f
So a targeted hunt would be acceptable and necessary.

But including anybody is unacceptable. You should be treated as innocent until proven guilty - not the other way around.

These systems treat anybody as guilty. (Yes they Canadians do not target Canadians and the Brits do not Target Brits and the NSA does not target US citizens etc etc bla bla... most people don't care who target them and deliver the data to their national agencies. :berserk2 )
