Good. They need to be scared of Gnome3.
I'd rather be a free person who fears terrorists, than be a "safe" person who fears the government.

(Although where that quote came from? No clue. Don't want one, either)

Interesting tips, re: Gnome3 - includes fallback and compiz.

Re: What does your desktop look like?
YAGS (yet another gnome shell). The fine thing about the wallpaper changer is that it looks different every time

Re: What does your desktop look like?
Question, have you been able to get gweather to display in Arch? I have it turned on in the clock - it's not displaying.
And how did you get the files applet to show on the panel (upper right; nautilus is what I'm referring to; so all you have to do is click the home folder on the panel)?
And what is that - look where it says "thomas", and then 3 buttons over on the panel to the left from there. What is that?
*sigh
Maybe it would be easier and more clear if I download that pic and then edit to display the questions I have.
Edit: Which I've done. In case you can't see what's in the red letters on this, it says, "What is this?" - I know I got that a bit small to say the least.

Also would be interested to know what theme this is (icon, window, etc.).
Thanks.

Go to the gnome-tweak-tools->Shell Extensions and turn on Places Status Indicator Extension

Here is another pic (remember my wallpaper keeps changing)
It is a start - Working on your other questions now....

Ah, so probably won't work in fallback then:

viking60 wrote:Bluetooth indicator?
Yep, I bet that's what that is.

Nice, that.
Thank you. Question pending there.
One more question if you wouldn't mind?
What in the world are "Available" and Busy" for in the shut down menu? I.M.? We can set that in our I.M. proggie, can we not, so I have to wonder what these are for here. They're there in fallback, or not, either way, so I have to think that it's somehow part of the whole overall "Gnome 3 experience" so to speak. In order to be "Available" or "Busy", we have to be "Available" or "Busy" to someone. Who?:

Re: What does your desktop look like?
Selecting available or busy sets gnome-session status first and then
sends out a call to telepathy library to set the presence status.
Empathy uses telepathy library , if the application is open its status
is set (currently supports available and busy).

Ah, so it's for Empathy. Okay, thanks. I don't use it so didn't know.
