Pick system information (at the bottom)
In the new window
Pick Graphics (or something :) )
And click ON

Log out and log back in and you have Compiz etc.

Okay, next question. After doing this, will compiz be automatically on when I log back in again, or will I have to load fusion-icon to turn it on (this question is very important here; I always previously have had to make sure it was off when I logged in, and turned it on after the desktop's loaded. This thing can't handle it on, on login. I have turn off desktop effects in KDE and Gnome both for this reason in their respective control centers)?

And, have you tested Emerald with Gnome3? I'd try it myself but my system's on thin ice as it is in general.

Emerald will probably not work. I haven't played with it.
I have fusion-icon in the startup programs so it is on when I start up. That works for me (all the effects are on).

Right, but the question is, did you deliberately put it in startup, or did it get there automatically? The answer is crucial here.

Deliberately!
Image
I will test it without loading it on startup now....
And I discovered something interesting. When removed in the gnome-session-properties window it will still auto load when logging in to KDE!
So we do not need to auto load it! I also discovered that not all my items on the startup menu were loaded every time, when fusion-icon was auto loaded (in Gnome3).
So I do not need fusion-icon to auto load in Gnome3 at all. It clearly is no point in doing this now so - you should not do it. Good paranoia there. It helped me in improving my system. :B
Moving on....
One thing that has been annoying is that i have to hit <ALT>+<F2> to get to the window for managing Gnome startup programs and write gnome-session-properties
It is not possible to add this to the favorites to the left either - So I decided to buy me some flexibility and installed AVN It is in the Arch repos.
It is highly configurable and you can put your weather applets back and all the other toys and information applets. And I could finally add the Gnome program startup manager to the dock! :s

So it is auto-loading.

Then I guess I don't go back into that thing. I applied the System Settings Graphics property you stated above, did not put fusion-icon into Startup applications, logged out waiting for a concrete answer, just to find out that now compiz will auto-load anyway when I login to there next..

Shit. All Gnome will do now is auto-crash on me when I log back in. :(

Go into KDE and set the option to Compiz in fusion-icon -That will stop the crashing. It must be Compiz - Metacity or Kwin wil give the crash.

That's what will crash. This thing doesn't like having compiz and the like on startup. Like I said, my system's on thin ice right now as it is.

Yeah. :(

I suppose I could try implementing it by whoring myself to the hardware gods.

Its a good cause, But that would be taking it a bit far. Steal it!
Todays update fixed a lot of the issues. Fusion-Icon is simply not loaded in Gnome-shell but it is in KDE. There have been some Compiz bugs and they are being worked on.
