Install and start fusion-icon. Right-click it and go to "Settings Manager", which will start CCSM. Then go, CCSM-->Window Management-->Turn on "Ring Switcher" - "Shift switcher" is also there.

Tell it to ignore conflicts BUT, have only one at a time turned on.

Applications-->Accessories-->Take screenshot-->Time to anywhere from 10-20 seconds, depending on what I'm doing. Un-tick "Include pointer".

Very nice video, btw. :)

Oh! BTW: http://wiki.compiz.org/Decorators/Emerald

Code: Select all

yum install emerald emerald-themes

Code: Select all

pacman -Syu emerald emerald-themes

Then, quit fusion-icon and reload it.

Play.

That should explain a bit more to you about what Joste & I did. :) He did the work, we both did the playing & ended up with matching themes. LOL.

Thanks! You are good at this stuff! :greetings I have always used ALT+print screen (Active Window) or print screen for the desktop. That did not work here.

Must find that program in Mandriva now.
Emerald I have had installed for ages - the themes too.

Yeah, alt+prnt screen won't work in compiz.

Glad you found the "Take Screenshot" - for future reference it's "gnome-screenshot", which is part of gnome-utils:

Code: Select all

$ yum info gnome-utils
Installed Packages
Name        : gnome-utils
Arch        : i686
Epoch       : 1
Version     : 2.30.0
Release     : 1.fc13
Size        : 11 M
Repo        : installed
From repo   : anaconda-InstallationRepo-201005130056.i386
Summary     : GNOME utility programs
URL         : http://www.gnome.org
License     : GPLv2+
Description : The gnome-utils package contains a set of small "desk accessory"
: utility applications for GNOME, such as a dictionary, a disk usage
: analyzer, a screenshot tool and others.

Another halfway decent one is shutter:

Code: Select all

$ yum info shutter
Available Packages
Name        : shutter
Arch        : noarch
Version     : 0.86.2
Release     : 1.fc13
Size        : 1.3 M
Repo        : updates
Summary     : GTK+ 2.0 screenshot application written in perl
URL         : http://shutter-project.org
License     : GPL+ or Artistic
Description : Shutter is a GTK+ 2.0 screenshot application written in perl.
: Shutter covers all features of common command line tools like
: scrot or import and adds reasonable new features combined
: with a comfortable GUI using the GTK+ 2.0 framework

Both are available in Arch as well.
