Mageia took an hour and a half to install.
openSUSE 13.2 (Milestone 2) took less than a half hour.
Mageia is on kernel 3.19, after updates.
openSUSE is on 4.1.6.
Mageia has issues with Qualcomm wireless, openSUSE doesn't.
openSUSE works with UEFI.
Mageia claims to, but doesn't, at least not on this computer..
openSUSE found every OS on this system for grub2, Mageia I had to add Windows to grub2. I still have yet to test if I'll be able to boot into Windows with grub2. I am expecting issues, so I'm not disappointed if I do get them, but I have a slight feeling that I won't.
openSUSE is very fast, as fast as this computer can go.
I noticed Mageia5 was a fair bit slower.
On Mageia, my battery drained in two hours. IMO, no excuse for it when it's a six-hour battery. It could possibly be whatever kept it bogged down.
I do not lack for packages, but one on openSUSE, that being an old unmaintained one called grip.
It was much easier to set up in openSUSE, and faster.
I'm installing extra packages now.
Last night with Mageia, I couldn't even start that until 2:30 am. It's just past midnight now - 00:21, and it's almost done installing them.
The only thing I can think is Mageia does not have the bazillion contributors that openSUSE has, therefore it takes longer to catch up to things. The running slowly, I'd have no clue. There is nothing openSUSE isn't finding on boot, Mageia couldn't even load the legacy module on boot... It depresses me to see this. Mageia has been a good distro up until now for me - but then the last I ran was Mageia 3 before Mageia 5 crept in. The only thing openSUSE is behind on is they are still on KDE4. That's OK. I like it better.

OpenSuse has improved. Sounds like a winner for you.
Zypper and Yast are OK to handle. There can be some surprises with Suse. I downloaded some patches from the site once and after that the Yast2 Gui simply does not fire.
Nothing in the wiki and nothing in the forum about it.
I don't need it as I can do fine with Zypper in the CLI; and yast does fire in the CLI version so it is no biggie.

Aye, Yast is a bit buggy in this version. It auto-dumped the updates repo - meant to ask how to re-add it for Leap, as I'm not finding the update repo for it anywhere in a search.
What I'll do however is reinstall per another thread, and get it right this time.

Aye, if I can get it installed, because it dumping the updates repo I think is a bug. I've run into others who have it happening too. It's happening again.

I've reinstalled, and as I said it happened again. I need to find another updates repo for Leap, which is virtually impossible. See the openSUSE thread on that.
Other than the niggles I posted there, I'm loving this thing.

Re: A very light rpm distro comparison
You have no clue how glad I am to be on Linux again. You have no clue, after all this time, I finally got a new lappy and was able to do it.
It's all thanks to a city bus I was on that got my nose broken.
I'm no longer homeless, and have good friends. I really like where I'm living in Cheyenne, WY. The state has the same attitudes that I do about the federal government. They accept very little in federal grants, pretty much run their own economy, and without the fed's help, That economy is quite a bit better than other states - businesses across the state are now begging for workers, after springing out of its own depression.
I need another job, and now is the time to strike. I'll be doing so as soon as I'm actually moved in here, and have the computer set up the way I want it. I'll get one too, pretty damn fast.

inxi should be installed in OpenSuse already it is default.
I don't get that Leap stuff? Do you have problems with your system clock?

Re: A very light rpm distro comparison
I need help choosing a Lightweight Linux Distro. I have an AMD 64 Sempron older system that only takes 2 GB RAM and Mageia is too darn big, runs ok but it bogs down when few applications are running.
Mandrake 10.x at about 2009 ran pretty darn decent on that system.
Which one is a good candidate to run this system?

Manjaro Openrc is very light. It comes with Openbox

Somewhat. On installation, I had to set it manually to get the right time. I'm going to switch to ntp when I can and try it then.
Edit: Just went ahead and did it from Yast2 - works on ntp now, with hardware clock set.

You can have the Openrc version with xfce4 too

Openrc as in not systemd.
