We need to start more threads with specific content. Everybody should feel free to do so.dedanna1029 wrote:I prefer to think that it's like I said above. Those distros are peaceful, because they WORK, they EXIST at the very least, are ESTABLISHED (and have stayed that way) and are very ALIVE. It's quite obvious that they've done something right - their drama is internal, and stays that way, and does not get in the way of their distros being released. I'm not one to see anything boring in that. I'm one to prefer the peace of being able to ask a question about a distro, and have an intelligent answer and conversation about it (and I have). I've found absolutely NO peace in Mandriva or OpenMandriva EVER, and I prefer peace and no drama. I don't need to have a "fire" about something that has the history Mandriva/OpenMandriva has. I lost that for it ages ago. The drama alone ran me off of it, and I'm having much more fun figuring out how other distros work; what's similar and what isn't to what I've done before; again, nothing at all boring in that. I've remained, since MDV, a loner in the Linux world in a way, and prefer it that way - my experience with Mandriva/OpenMandriva was just that awful with people's attitudes, their power plays, and their resulting drama. It has made me a loner.
The point is, I should have known how this crap would turn out, and didn't see it coming anyway (well, actually, I did, but then was stupid enough to go back for more). For that, I will always have a severe guilt on my conscience.
I'm glad not to be any longer, a part of all this damn drama. I was perfectly ready to leave Mandriva when I did (January 2010), and was more than glad to leave it well behind. Drumming up this thread, I just drummed up the crap I hated about it in the first place. It's no different now than it ever was. Still the drama, and somehow people actually get off on it. It's stupid. It's a damn Linux distribution for chrissakes (just a fricking object, when it comes down to it). It's not our lives, other than for those who get paid to do it and put up with it, and who literally put in their sweat and blood to it. It's totally idiotic how it's all happened, and it's not any different now. People who think that all this drama and fighting over an effing Linux distro is great and good and wonderful need to get a grip. Prove me wrong. Stop this drama crap. I dare you.
So, now that I've learned it honestly isn't worth five minutes of my time (and neither are the people's fights), I can leave it behind (maybe) once again.
these people behind this joke of an association
And maybe also talk less, code more
