animal cruelty

Postby gnuuser » 25 Aug 2010, 21:38

This was in the news today
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100824/ap_ ... _cat_woman

I am disgusted at the woman's actions and attitude.

pets are not just animals they have become part of someones life!
While I am a cat person I am not too fond of dogs but I will not be mean to them
on the contrary I have cared for many animals until I could find them homes or their owners.
but that woman said she doesn't understand why people are upset! It's just a cat!

Truth is a sword with many edges...

This article publish one side of it which is a PETA  (yes is a pun).

Where I live, there is a huge dog that goes around and tip trash cans, shits on your lawn, spreads trash on everybody lawn, tears up stuff, gets in you garage (if is open).
I know some people that are fed up and they want to actually kill the dog.
Why? The owner does not want to take care of the problem.

People have different reason for not having a pet.

Mine is the maintenance, I do not want to and in reality they does nothing for me.
But that does not mean that I hate them or like to harm every creature on Earth.

So comes to question, who is more cruel, the person that has it and does not care or the people that wants to take care of the problem once and for all.

On the cat story...

Does not states what are the motives of the person for throwing the cat in the trash can.
The cat could be destroying her property, made her sic or many others.
Could be fed yup of the cat coming to her place and the owner does not care?
For how long this is going on?
Or the person is just plain mean?
By the way, how she got a hold of the cat in the 1st place?
Did snatched the feline from the neighbor?

We will never know.

All we know is what the article says.
A single angle view.

In your eager defense of this sadist, you jump to conclusions: We do know - she was filmed!

And here she is charming as ever, making here excuses.

And here first defense was that "it was only a cat what is the fuss about"? No prior history.
She should be put in the trash can :!:
Edit:
To be fair she is being punished more than most cruel people. The cat (Lola) has its own facebook site, and the woman is the most wanted person in the world right now - Osama bin laden is No 2.
Here name is Mary Bale and she works in the Bank of Scotland. I predict people will run away from that bank as long as she is working there.

And here here press statement: No motive or reason whats so ever, just a "momentary action out of character":

She is only sorry that she was caught.

Another thing Pedro, is it's not the animal's fault that its owners are screwed up. It's the owners that should be shot, IMHO.

Still R_head is reasoning and has a good motivation. It is the pointless act of cruelty that is so disgusting in this matter. Who would do a thing like that just for fun?

Yeah, really. It's completely inhumane IMHO

Please guys. Do not confuse my argument as a defense of the other person.

All I am seeking is the truth.

I do not condone what she did, is the opposite.

What I will like to know the reasoning and the motive that drove the person to do it.

The solution is understanding the issue.

What irritates me is that is an article written by animal lovers.

I used to have a boss that now is serving time in jail that he used to say "Perception is Reality".

During my years in the military and my current job you can not go by that. Meaning, that you have to look at all angles.

Now there is a twist to this story...

What if, the person suffers from some mental illness and placed the cat in the trash can?
What if, it was a Prank?
What if, the person really hates animals?
What if is the cat's favorite spot and the person knew that and just placed it there where it wants to be?

There are so many if this and if that.

That is my analytical side of me that wants the truth.

I could take the same video and state that cat scratched and taunted that old woman until you could not take it any more.

As an example, there was a case that a woman burned her husband in bed. Is that cruel or not?
If someone video tape it she would be given the death sentence. But in reality was some else and she was exonerated.

If is proved to be done out of pure cruelty, I agree to burn her on a pole
