But again I can see your point.

Arch should be the standard for the rest.

In my forecast, the Android clan will show in the middle of the night and take it all by storm. :A

Mandriva users are highly advised to run urpmi --auto-update. There's a kernel update, among other things today distro-wide.

Just a heads up.

Edit: I was informed after I posted this, that there was no kernel update in MDV? Viking can you confirm?

Yes I can confirm -But you cannot expect Mandriva to be as fast as Arch or Fedora. Some are bleeding edge, some are not.

I am not cooking anymore. I am unsure how much activity there is on the cooker. They might await a takeover before they go full speed on that one.

Liar :liar: You had especially thought of that (as if you would forget).
Anyway here is a list of people that have been leaving Mandriva:
salem, caio, olavo, blino, dams, teuf, helio, boiko, arthur, boiko, fcrozat, pterjan, neoclust...

The capital is lost and rumors of rich uncles that want to take over have been planted from insiders.
The General assembly is on the 17th Sept and I would expect some clarification of the situation there. I have expressed my hope that some rich investor would take over. Others like wobo representing the German community, would like to see that the company ceases the activity with Mandriva.
I think a clarification is necessary one way or the other. If there is a community able to continue development of Mandriva, they should step up now.
This state of uncertainty will slowly undermine the distro.
It is Ironic because it is one of the best distros, with one of the greatest potentials.

I think this bug report says it well:

Perhaps if Gael Duval needs to comes back...
When he was around the distro was doing ok.
Once he got booted out is just going down the tubes.

I would not mind to change the distro name to Ulteo
