Manjaro i3 15.11 released

Postby dedanna1029 » 05 Nov 2015, 02:57

Just today. It may be time for me to make my move. Just need to check the kernel version it's shipping with. I'm thinking it should be well updated enough.

Their forum thread, which gets a wee bit comical.

I updated today and everything is fine here. I wonder it it comes with Kernel 4.2 but I am not sure. In Manjaro you can easily install any supported kernel anyway so it is no biggie.
And that is not the forum thread for the standard release only of i3 not the general update.

Here it is for the general update:

Cool. It's shipping with kernel 4.1.1... hhmmm... I do have the firmware files just in case. Yeah, it's time to give it a try. I'm on both 4.1.x and 4.1.2 on Mageia... it's working. *shrug*

Ooooooooohhh they haven't done up install media for it yet, looks like.

The download page is still 15.09. I'll give it another day or two.

Here are the official versions (more or less):

Edit:
I see you found that. Just download and update and you have the latest; this is a rolling release.

Actually, I'm going more for the most updated kernel I can get. If I don't have at least 4.1.x, it ain't a-gonna work.

OK, then I'm going to wait on isos for 15.11.

Keep in mind I cannae update until I get the wireless going myself. Since I've not run Manjaro before, I'd have a heckuva time finding the repos to get stuff updated.
I've uninstalled Cygwin from Windows. It was taking up 1/6 of my drive, and when one has 300MBs for Windows, that's a lot to take, as Windows takes a lot a lot.
So, unless Manjaro has the 4.1.11 kernel or higher, I have to wait. The new firmware won't work with anything earlier.

I also notice they don't have an XFCE version of 15.11 done yet? I may have jumped the gun on this.

Oh wait, I see now. The isos are within the systemd or openrc folders there... I can download.
