[solved - updates] No sound in mplayer (Arch)

Yeah, I tried that from yaourt.

I'm wondering, what would the code be to svn it straight from the site? The svn install in yaourt failed miserably. Too many choices, so I tried a bunch of them. Each one wanted to uninstall the other, wasn't sure which one to keep.

So, how would I svn it straight from the site?

I can tell you that I only installed from the site. I used the one in the extra repo mplayer 31774-1. Have you tried gnome-mplayer-svn No 14 on the list when you do a yaourt mplayer?

Yep. Tried it, tried gnome-mplayer, tried smplayer, the works. None work 'cause mplayer doesn't work.

But how? All they have now that I could find was svn, but they don't give the code to do it.

If you deinstall mplayer first - I guess it will pull the correct one.

Oh, I thought you were saying you svn'ed it from the mplayer site.

I'll try the two you mention from yaourt then. May have already, but will try again.

Yeah, think I will. Sometime. LOL. Problem is after the Fedora crash, I'm afraid to update Arch.

Uninstalled all the AUR mplayer stuff, and installed the version in regular repos. Waited for 2 more updates from there, and it's just started working. I'm just sad it took all that.

All I can say to the devels is just don't screw with it any more, now that it's working. In fact, now that it is finally working, I think I'm going to put it in the list to skip being updated.
