Forum rules

Postby dedanna1029 » 13 Aug 2010, 18:30

No flaming. If you are caught flaming someone or demeaning anyone in any way, shape, or form, you will be locked with a warning the first time. After that, you will be looking at being banned.
Discuss reasonably, state your opinions and discuss them.
References to private places PM's or Mail, or to other places outside this forum that cannot be read by the public, have no place in this forum, :hand: and do not in any way constitute a valid argument in any discussion. If the content as such is clearly speculative (Will Microsoft sue Google?) that is fine - claiming to have a secret source for it - is not.
If you have something private to discuss - we are not interested. :snooty: If you have something public, make it available to everyone. At all times we will respect your privacy to the best of our ability.
Keep images in posts smaller than 400x400 or make them as big as you like, but then beyond 400x400 you must put them in a "spoiler". In general we encourage to put long elaborations in spoilers.
Mean what you say and say what you mean.
Be polite and assume the best. Many posts are made by people that are not natively speaking English, so patience is a must. Use it.
No porn and no illegal material is allowed. Spam in any shape or form will not be tolerated. We will make it known that we, and also fully reserve the right to, preemptively ban for spam. If you register at this forum and carry a url that is an NFL jersey site and/or are selling something and have not posted yet, we will preemptively ban you. We do our best to prevent spam before it happens. Make sure you do not offend copyrights, and above all: No one associated with this site is responsible for the content, to the full extent of the law.
We will be moderating to the best of our ability to make the stay here a pleasant one though.
Respect, common sense and some intelligence, is our guideline.
We greatly appreciate humor and would encourage the use of it! But please respect your fellow community members.
You accept and understand this. If something is not explicitly "P" or "PG" rated, we encourage you to put it in a spoiler and post a warning with it of the rating it is.
The Lounge can contain personal chit-chat (one can't really discuss Politics & Religion without personal input and opinion), but that chit-chat must be kept amicable; and if you find your post missing, know that it has been deleted for not being so. This forum is no place for grudges or for personal vengeance on someone.
Should you feel that you have a problem with the moderator or the site admin the moderation will be transfered to the one you do not have a problem with.
Never will a moderation or Admin status be abused to satisfy personal egos.
Content and contributions by the members, are public and will not be restricted at a later point in time, without the posters consent.
The posts are regarded as the posters property and are only to be altered by him, as long as the rules have been followed. What we would like to see is as much reason and rationality as possible. Common sense. Use it. We reserve the right to do what we have to however, in order to be sure the forum runs smoothly, including deleting inflammatory, flaming, or otherwise derogatory posts, locking threads, or banning if it seems necessary.

Insofar as going off-topic goes, we have good talkers, and on the whole, good communicators at this forum thus far. Going slightly off topic is one thing, and would be tolerated with the other forum rules in place. However, if you go too far off-topic, you will be moderated, and asked to start another thread.

In short be polite and sensible.
We do encourage your feedback on the forum and how it's going for you here. Thanks!

The above constitutes the set of rules that apply for the entire board. And that is as far as we have come. Should the need arise further points may be added. But nothing replaces common sense. Long time overdue moderator wish is hereby fulfilled. The other forums and categories now have a link to this post.
Deleting the double posts now....

As an addendum, you will from here on out see me post less and less here at the forum as time goes on, but it doesn't mean I'm not here. Don't hesitate to P.M. me or I.M. me if you need to. It's time for the place to take off. I'm the watcher, and that's what I will do.

Let's post with love, and not hate. Treat this forum as if it were your home, because well, for the time that you're here, it is your home. :)

Thanks.

And remember the PM's and references to it have nothing to do in this forum. If PM is chosen as a mean of communication. Then the communication must be concluded and ended in the PM. The same goes for mail. :T

Also there is good reason to register on this board despite all the threats here :D You will gain access to and be able to contribute to, Tips and Tricks among other things.
So above all: Welcome :!: and have a pleasant stay. +1
