Site fubared again today after successful transfer yeaterday

Postby viking60 » 12 Dec 2017, 13:21

Well today the site was completely down after a seemingly successful transfer yesterday.

The new server is supposed to be way better....so who cares that the sites are down then -right? :berserk2 :f

I'll try to clean it up and will yell at everyone involved - not that it will help but I will feel better :berserkf

Sorry again!

It looks like the transfer will still have some bumps so some instabilities may still occur.

heres where hard copies come in (settings, protocols, port assignments, ect)
changing from one server to the next can be a pain as current processes running at the time of constructing the database may not show a problem
but after start-up a process may conflict with another and throw a monkey wrench into the whole deal.

when i used to write programs in dos and basica putting the processes in the correct order so they would not start unless the prior process completed prevented many crashes but it took careful planning and a lot of trial and error.
I got to the point where i always printed out the config and autoexec.bat files after getting them in the right order.
this made for easier future set-ups
