Wow. You hadn't been into Linux before Mandriva, viking? When was that? I was already running Arch (you may have seen me talk about it there in the forum).

I was one who was against the idea of trying to carry on Mandriva anyway. There were way too many negative things going on (there still are IMO), corruption being one I think through finances with Mandriva. There were a lot of political games being played, and still to this day, I see people fight over the old Mandriva. I'm so far away from it now it's pathetic, and won't go back. I'm much happier this way - viking is with Arch, and I agree... nothing will get me away from it now.

We really really need a whole brand new distro with the rpm file system. That to me, would be paramount, to keep rpm going. It's a good file system.

That Rpm 5 thing seems to have been a total failure. Everybody thought it would be the next thing - and ..it wasn't. Only Mandriva went for it as far as I know.

And I did fiddle a little with Suse in the 90's before I started with Mandriva but that was only
