Damn... I copied this new key to my clipboard (using the "select all" link) and tried to import it, but I got an error message telling me there was no key on the clipboard. Turns out phpbb pads code blocks with four spaces at the beginning of each non-blank line. If anyone has trouble importing keys from here that may be the issue.

Would it be better if we attached our keys as .ASC files instead?

Why not? Put them on Megasync and provide a link here.

Heeeeeeeyyy! That's where I can put my keys, and they'd be safe there! Thank you for the idea!

Enigmail setup in Mageia:

"Your key is generated."

Well, that's great except I already had three keys and was given no option to use them.

I think for Ma & Pop email I don't need this, but am doing it just in case I get that one whole email I need to encrypt.

Well you should not create a new key every time you set it up but use the existing one.
Use this procedure to copy your existing key instead.

Yeah, I hadn't wanted to make another one. I was hoping for the option to use the one(s) I have.

I'll check out the procedures, thanks.

I have one that has absolutely no extension on it. How would I get it exported to .asc? I have Kleopatra installed. Thanks.

Never mind, I got it.

https://mega.nz/#F!a5YCjAjT

It's two of the three. I'm not going to use the third one. Thanks.

Update: Except it wants decryption key. Oops. Another thing I don't get yet.

Thar looks like a Mega login routine to me :confused
If you want to share it on mega you must make it public and create a link.

Yeah, I just had it copy the link, and I pasted that to here. I forgot we have to use the "Share" thingie.

Except when I use "Sharing" it wants an email contact. Ssooo... I need to figure this out.

The issue is I'm not using it for sync so I can't just go into some sync proggie and change it to Public. From the browser I don't have the option to make it public.

http://www.pcworld.com/article/2025823/ ... rvice.html :
You can share a file with anyone, regardless whether they have a Mega account. To share a file, you either right-click on the file and select "Get link," or you can click the link icon to the far right of the file name.

Either method will open a window that shows you an extremely long link to your file that includes a secret key (a string of numbers and letters).

Mega URLs are composed like so: https://mega.co.nz/#!FileAddress!SecretKey.

For someone to access this file, they will need both the file's URL and the key. Mega warns that if the secret key is exposed, anyone can access and download your file. If you are concerned about keeping your files private, Mega suggests you should not share the key through insecure channels such as plain email.

To hide the file key, just uncheck the "File key" checkbox and then copy the file's URL to the clipboard. You can then send the link to the file via email, and then send the key in an encrypted email or IM session.

So, what I need to get down to is the key.
Folders

Sharing a folder is a little different from sharing a single file, and you can share folders only with other Mega users. If you share a folder with someone who is not a Mega user, they must sign up for an account in order to access it.

A folder is what I was trying to share. It contains both keys. *sigh

So, fine, screw it. I know they're very safe at Mega, but I'm moving to my dongle.

Ok. thanks that must mean that you have two e-mail accounts. Do I need to delete the old one that I have registered (is one of these keys covering the same account)?

I haven''t had chance yet to compare those to the old one I've posted here so am not sure. Enigmail created that new one so I'm not sure if one of those is the new one or the same as one of the old ones (I've already posted two different ones for both email addies, as to whether these I've just posted are those or not I'm not susre).
Give me a day or two. I won't be here at the house to check, for at least the rest of the day. The day I have coming up is going to be a bit grueling so I may not feel like computing tonight.
