I think it a great thing. He does one of those every year, has as he said for the last six years. I've still got four to catch up on lol, but started with that one.

They're great because he talks about both the good and the bad. We Linux fanbois like to think that Linux is all good and we don't look at the bad, or at least the other side of the coin, watching out for things that need tending to with it.

Or maybe it's just that I'm super pissed at Linux atm (or my computer, one of the two).

I still think it's good to get a reality check though. Gives us ways to turn what may not be great into super great, y'know?

Sure. The criticism is a way to improve. Linux needs it as much as other OS's
Most people who dare to take the leap are shocked how good Linux is - but once there you want it to improve of course.

Mythbusting Linux.

Listen to this guy. Runs an Antivirus Program and finds some .exe files. He goes on what the heck about Linux not having malware... exe files, give me a break. Moves to defrag and finds defrag files on Cache folders for Skype and Temp Cache.... could not watch any more... anyway, if you want to watch some, go for it.

What a douchebag !

Oh Boy that is really stupid.

He claims that Linux gets viruses and malware and that the anti virus system (he is trying to sell) finds DLL and Exe files that probably are viruses and malware for Windows.
They have no impact on Linux whatsoever so here is the fact:

Linux cannot be infected by the files his AV found.

So to make himself look like an expert he can claim that he has found malware and virus on a Linux system. But he cannot claim that Linux "gets" the virus or malware.

He uses strong language like "completely false" etc and to be honest; most of what he says is completely false.

He obviously needs to hear his own voice.

Claiming that the entire Linux community is wrong - where he is right..well....I have never heard of this guy so...

That web site is more accurate and I know Spatry to be fairly accurate too.

In my opinion that was a review geared to MS users. They are the only ones that knows what an antivirus, .exe files and Defrag is.

Even me, I do not consider myself a Linux guru but I do understand files and extensions. If you pause the video you can see the path. No root issues for starters, all user directory and harmless files that does nothing more than taking space.

I bet that he went to some crappy sites with the Chome Browser and clicked on every pop-up imaginable.

He proved a good point though.... deleting that pesky .exe file took care of the issue. On MS, try cleaning the Register, good luck with that.

I'm not going to bother. Sounds like a troll to me. Some say I'm one but even still, I do know the difference between Windows and Linux. From what I'm reading, he doesn't seem to.
