Yeah, I used to do it all the time in Mandriva - you can check their Show off your desktop thread there for it. It's in CCSM/Effects/Cube Reflection and Deformation. Tell it to ignore conflicts when you do it.

Wow you are great at this. I managed to do the cylinder now in Arch. In Mandriva I do not have the option, must lack some installs I guess.
Do you know if we can have a slide show background on Gnome like in KDE? I never can make up my mind anyway

Thanks! Install the compiz unsupported plugins, that should contain it. IIRC, they should be in plf-free or plf-nonfree.

Compiz-fusion is literally an addiction for me; I love it. It's so versatile in so many ways, and very functional, too.

I have two slideshow backgrounds installed myself in Gnome, so yeah, those should be somewhere there, too. If not, then run a search for backgrounds or themes in your repos (sometimes they come with themes).

I went out last night, came home, and the most beautiful screensaver that I'd never seen before was running. I took pics of the screen with my cell phone, but I still have to upload them, and see if they're worth posting. Most from a cell phone aren't (in particular my cheap-arse phones).

Cube cap setting. You have option to point it to the pic you want there. I can't remember offhand where in CCSM it is right now; will have a look through later.

Nah, I just did it up. Desktop Cube-->Appearance tab-->Cube caps

There's also option for yer Skydome there.
