Well in any case it couldn't hurt (behaving :-D ). Displaying your technical brilliance and and offering solutions to fellow community members has been known to make a difference.
After that you only have to go to University and get your Bachelor - it only takes three years - and you are good to go. :A

If you get bored after that you can add two years and do the Master. I have heard that b1o wants to go for the ph.d.
All inspired by this forum of course +1

Remember in the IT business you are not that effected by local depressions - it's a global market.
It is easy really - you only have to be better than the rest of the world - how hard can i be? :C

Well, all I'm going to say is that in many years of foruming, not only at this forum and at the MDV one, and as having been a government employment recruiter, it never did jack for me. I've learned the hard way, "it's who you know", not "what you know".

Yes that helps. But only "who you know" without the "what you know" only leaves the ultimate failure - becoming a politician.

Not really. It's the only way we can get a McDonald's job here in the states, much less anything else.

Yes McDonalds is a local job. But in the IT world you can work in Kuala Lumpur even if you are in Portales. That is a difference (unless you know a lot of people in Kuala Lumpur of course).

And he's working locally, aye?

SpecTec Norway
P.O Box 15
Strandveien 15
Lysaker
Norway

... where a forum normally would have nothing to do with it...

... and of which he could get locally, with pen and paper, and references.

Yes there are some crisis going on. Be happy you do not live in Greece. They have overspent and under worked since they got the Euro - expecting it to secure their wealth forever.
The IT jobs are often very global though. Of course that makes it interesting to put the jobs where the labor/efficiency factor is the cheapest. Now the Norwegians have top scores for efficiency so it is good business to hire here.
b1o deserves the concratulations :cheers
