Oracle VirtualBox only offers 32 bit clients

Postby viking60 » 06 Apr 2017, 23:38

I had this problem that my virtual box only offered to install 32 bit clients -both in Windows and in Linux.
Since this laptop had an Intel processor the solution was to enter BIOS and activate Intel VT (Intel Virtualization Technology).
This was not enabled by default on my Lenovo.

This enabled me to install 64bit clients on my 64 bit Lenovo.

If you have this problem on an AMD box you must activate AMD-V to let your VirtualBox use the resources of your 64bit computer.
