Apple will launch "iPad 3" today. There are rumors that it will be called something else like iPad HD. The specs will be something like this: * 9.7" panel Retina Display (2048 x 1536). * Black and white in the following sizes: 16, 32 og 64GB - with and without 3G. * LTE? who knows? * Apple A5X or A6 CPU * 1 mm. thicker than iPad 2. * Same design, but with more curves. * Gorilla Glass 2. * Possibly NFC. * Name: iPad 3, iPad 2S or iPad HD. * Maybe new and smaller dock standard. * Comes with iOS 5.1.

I could not wait for a few more hours so I had to speculate here
Get ready to sleep in line in front of an Apple store to get one. If you don't - you're out.

Nice but not for me. Maybe for the young generation; I read where one of the local elementary schools is buying older edition iPads for every student in a 3 or 4 grade range. Times are changing but I work in construction, need something that can be relatively protected in my jeans pocket so spammers can reach me when I'm crawling around under a house. Also, having just cobbled together two broken Treos into one working bad boy in order to hang onto a $30/mo. unlimited data plan, I must say this sort of tablet is a toy that's not in my budget.

I work in Manufacturing and an iPad is worthless for me. I cannot pull complex CATIA drawings since the form factor is too small; the only thing that will make it work for me is an e-mail viewer but for that I have a Blackberry that does the same thing and is encrypted. For taking notes? A $2.00 nPad (Note Pad) and a pen does fine; it draws, writes and no recharging is need it.

If I need to show to floor people a 55 in touch screen TV would be awesome!

I played last night with a Samsung Galaxy Tab; for the price of an iPad and what it does, that one kicks a lot of ass!
