Diamond glass for phones and computers.

Postby viking60 » 16 Aug 2016, 13:49

The Smartphone Industry has used super hard glass called Gorilla glass for a while now.
The Gorilla glass will be further improved and the best versions have not reached the market yet.

Gorilla Glass 5 will be on the Galaxy Note 7 that will be available later this year.

But before the latest Gorilla glass hits the market; the industry is working on the new and harder Diamond Glass.
This will be cheaper to produce and thinner, yet harder than Gorilla glass.

So hardware indeed....

I think cell phone display glasses cannot be hard. The harder the more prone will be to break. I think it should be softer to absorb and dissipate the impact. Perhaps the reason for glass is clarity.
