My Book mount issue
I have a 1Tb My Book external usb drive that my music library is on. The problem is that in Arch, every time it's mounted as a different name. Sometimes it's My Book, sometimes it's My_Book, other times it's usbhd-sdxx, other times it's something else. It's like this thing doesn't know what to do with it. There may have been a thread on this before, but from my phone I can't find it. Anyway, this is causing havoc with Amarok1.4.10. How can I get it to mount just as My Book every time? No problems with it in other distros - it's just in Arch. Please, due to being on my phone, don't send links, but just the information from them. Thanks.

Re: My Book mount issue
Try to install the ntfs-3g modules.
And ntfs-config
And ntfsprogs
That might help.

Oh sorry, meant to mention the drive is formatted reiserfs. Do I still need the ntfs progs? The computer's offline right now due to the move to yonder parts on the global map.

Re: My Book mount issue
I had a world of trouble when I tried some other formats on My Book so I just reformated it to NTFS. That works here.
Also you could install gigolo to mount it when it does not mount automatically.

Re: My Book mount issue
Unfortunately can't install anything. It's offline. There's a file in /etc/udev/rules.d that could be editted, & I have 11-media-by-label-auto-mount.rules there. Just am not sure what to edit it to. Sigh. Guess it's time to consult the library computer & check out the Arch wiki there.
