A lot of the stuff comes out here and there. But time is the key element that proves the past. I never dismiss anything that I cannot prove, does not matter how crazy is.

People forget easy and do not have due dillegence in research or even remember small details.

All I can say that will be interesting years ahead. If you spend most of the time in the Main Stream Media all you are getting is disinformation, opinions, propaganda and an ear full of hate. Real information... not a bit. I ditched it years ago for alternate sources that offer way better information.

That doesn't answer the question.

Yes, has been known for a long time by people that know about it. But the vast majority, either did not cared at the time and dismissed it, or too hung up on propaganda that are blind to the facts. Now all the sudden a "secret" is revealed... Secret, is a nice catchy word, got to love journalism

The Intel FUBAR was known to tech companies for 6 months before the public was informed.
For this period it was a secret to everyone except the tech companies,

In these matters they have a deal to fix things before they are published to avoid exploiting....but that period has never been as long as 6 months.....

But then again this was a colossal fubar so maybe they needed longer time.

If you have your tinfoil hat on you could speculate if there was a period of time given for various agencies in the world (that are US friendly) to exploit the flaw...

Can someone answer this please? Thanks.

quite frankly in the windows mainstream world of users they simply had no idea about it.
we on the forum however communicate with each other and post our findings.
But in all the world of computer users the question is

How many users know about our site?
or How many users even know linux exists?
just from the sampling of the people in my area almost 99.995% have never even heard of linux
and micro-sith and crapple would prefer it this way.

Sure server systems are run by linux But mainstream home user pc are still largely windows and mac
unless linux gets a whole lot more advertising , Its just going to keep on slugging along

Very true. Here in WY, I've stopped even discussing Linux with people around town, because as soon as I'd mention Linux, they'd say, "I don't even know what that is."
The first thing I now think is, "OK, people, keep your desire for ignorance and Windows. You'll get what you deserve for it."

I see Linux like that Properous Nation, we are all free, create all sorts of nice things, safe as heck.

The other OSs are the Shltholes of the World and the users their residents. As soon they know there is a greener pasture, they will migrate like Zombies from the Walking Dread and storm Valhalla's door.

Let them in and the Locusts will deplete the land of all the fruits.

Embrace, Integrate, Assimilate

No thanks, I rather be quiet and not bring attention.... :smug

Yes, has been known for ages. Where to start...

Technology is just a tool, like anything else. The evildoers look for ways to spy on everybody. When someone achive a technological advance, they are either bought or coherced to play what these people want.

You need to think of it like a Corporation. Is not about ownership, is about Control. Why mega rich people stay that way? They own nothing but they control the assets. You can tax them all you want all day long and pay nothing. So you take the Tech Giants and keep their heads in place. All you do is tell them what to do. Does not want to play? Easy, get rid of the person and put another one in place. If you play nice, you can be like Bill Gates.

Where is the best place to hide a secrect? Out in the open if you know on what to look for. How you build some secrect? Easy, is called Compartmentalization. Each individual company get a small slice of pie but have no idea what the pie looks like. Pay handsomely, you get them to shut the fück up.
