There is this fancy lock that can be very handy if you rent out a flat or something because you do not have to hand out keys.
Changing the code is enough:
but now an internet software update has cut of the lock from the net...resulting in a bricked lock.
Hardware biz Lockstate has managed to brick hundreds of internet-connected so-called smart locks on people's front doors with a bad firmware update.
And that is highly impractical for those who live there....
