European and US businesses and hospitals are under a new ransomware attack that exploits the Windows flaw called EternalBlue.
This is the same flaw that the NSA has exploited when they created Wannacry but it is not the same virus.
EternalBlue is a backdoor.
Microsoft has delivered a patch for the Windows flaw called EternalBlue in March but obviously many corporations have not been able to update.
Why hospitals and corporations use Windows for critical operations remains a mystery.....

Windows is not a secure OS
To exploit this backdoor; Kali Linux can be used to inject dll files. Security personal should use it to check their systems.
Naturally other distros can be used too.
Sadly those virus crooks may well abuse Linux for these attacks but that is the current situation that security people need to work with.
Mostly updating Windows often will be sufficient though...but why not use Linux to make sure?
