Donald Trump has accused the Obama administration of tapping his phones.
We now have the very special situation that the FBI Boss claims that the president is a "liar":
Mr. Comey has argued that the highly charged claim is false and must be corrected
Mr. Comey’s request is a remarkable rebuke of a sitting president, putting the nation’s top law enforcement official in the position of questioning Mr. Trump’s truthfulness.
Computer technology is fascinating and gives a lot of opportunities and huge potential for abuse. The law makers do not keep up and various agencies exploit the loopholes more efficiently than Tax Houdini's...
It seems fairly clear that President Trump is not going to accept the agency (FBI NSA CIA) potty training and fall nicely into the folds.
It also seems like the various agencies (the FBI - boss Comey) have more trouble adapting to various leaders that they cannot mold.
In any case: Massive governmental data retention will always lead to a lack of trust. If somebody wants to save everything about you - they do not trust you....those feelings very quickly tend to become mutual.
New Presidents are former citizens that carry this scepticism ..with good reason!
Obama did tap Holande's and Merkel's phones even if they were head of allied states..so why not Trumps phone?
Maybe democracy is working here, with Trump bringing up the problems that the agencies want to sweep under the carpet?
Let's hope so
The tempting offer of tapping everybody's phones and be on the "peeping Tom" end does not seem to work with Trump (Well does he listen to anybody? which is good in this case )
If Trump is right about this one?
I think so but - unlike the FBI - i will try to presume innocence until they are proven guilty though.
I do welcome a thorough investigation of the agencies that have looked like loose canons on deck for quite some time now.
If they were not loose cannons then Obama must have ordered it and that spells trouble if there is any truth to this..
