How to clean an RCA Viking Pro keyboard?

Search after search has been totally unfruitful. I need to take the keys off to get something very sticky - like gum - cleaned out from under them and in-between them. I bought this from a friend, and it's pretty nice, but it came with this issue. The keys *appear* to be that they can pop off, but a lot do appear that way, that won't pop off these days, and I hear it's not exactly safe to pop the keys off a laptop any more, ssooo...

This is the tablet and keyboard.

Anyone? Thanks.

I usually use tooth picks for that.
In my experience taking the keys off might fubar things aka not being able to put them back as they are supposed to.

That's what I'm seeing and hearing these days, thanks for confirming.
What if I put a wee bit of cotton on them with alcohol? Would that help?

Thanks!

Depends.

Tooth pick without cotton first to remove the bread crumbs and alcohol later. Alcohol is always good since it disinfects the potential bacteria-bomb that a keyboard is. Just avoid any fluid with fat in it or soap etc.

OK, so. The sticky is hard sticky, and a quite large area underneath the keys, and on the bottom of them, the toothpick isn't getting it.

Would hot water over this thing be OK? Then let it drain well?

Thanks.

Very sceptical! You need something that vaporizes fast - like alcohol. Maybe warming it up can help but it depends what you have under there - if it is gum then you are in big trouble.

It seems like Dr. Pepper, a kind of soda pop, or coffee with lots of sugar.
