I installed hdapsd. It had no effect on the error on boot, so all I can think is this is a kernel issue.

Yes I am not sure if the kernel reports that it is loaded while it in fact is not ...or if there is a problem with hdapsd. The "modprobing" indicates that it is Kernel related.

That's what I thought too.
Any clue what outputs I'd need for a bug? Is hdaps something that's necessary? I myself would think so but I could be wrong? Do you have it running on any of your machines? If so is it doing OK?

From a quick search at bugs.mageia.org, I'm finding no bugs filed on hdaps.
