BOINC

Postby dedanna1029 » 06 Nov 2015, 20:17

Boinc appeared to be a bit buggy in Mageia; I've noticed past bugs filed on it and had tried to get it going. I used the workarounds however and did get it going.
I'm having an issue however with it in that when I go to finish setting up a project, I get a message in the manager that when I click "Finish" I would be redirected to the project page where I could finish setting up my account, and I'd be on my way.

When I click "Finish", the browser does load but I get this (clickety-click):

If I tell it to open with Firefox, it opens up another tab in Firefox of the same thing.

So, I went and downloaded the install file from the site to see if it was Mageia's client, and got the same thing..

Anyone know what's up here? Is it the browser not being associated correctly (which makes me wonder because I can scoot around on this site pretty well), or is it just BOINC?

This is my project for today.

Thanks.

I did not know of Boinc but I gather it is something like Teamviewer.
On That pic it looks like you don't have the needed php installed.

I finally got it going (not sure how), but here is BOINC for you:

https://boinc.berkeley.edu/

I use it to run my folding (and other) projects.
