I wonder if going ahead and changing the poweroff, shutdown, etc. commands in slim.conf as mentioned earlier in this thread would do it? Comment out the commands it has now, so if it doesn't work, then it could be changed back in a jiffy from tty?

Interesting situations we have with DEs these days.

lol. I just found out what happens when you don't do this - X wouldn't start. I was taken to tty, told to run drakx11 and go from there. I ran it, found that everything was fine there, then remembered that I hadn't done this. Oops.

I've been meaning to ask, is there a systemctl command for logout? Thanks.

Will do it.
Manjaro 64bit on the main box -Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67GHz and nVidia Corporation GT200b [GeForce GTX 275] (rev a1. + Centos on the server - Arch on the laptop.
