On a computer here which is on a network, we are having a bit of a time installing flash-plugin to Mageia2. I've installed codecs to the end of the earth, tried both the .rpm from the site and from the repos several times, using Add/Remove Software, using urpmi <that install file>, using rpm, various ways, and it says it's installed; however, go to a flash vid on youtube, vimeo, wherever, and it says it needs the flash plugin (this in Firefox, haven't tried much for other browsers at all). Why is it not ''there'' when installed? Have even rebooted after installing, yet, even here at the forum, it says additional plugins are needed for this site, and offers to search to install them (I am more than certain this is for flash; can't think for the life of me that there would be anything else needed).
Code: Select all
[root@localhost dedanna]#
[root@localhost dedanna]# rpm -qa | grep flash
flash-plugin-11.2.202.258-release
iguanair-reflasher-0.99-1.svn959.6.mga1
kipi-plugins-flashexport-2.6.0-1.mga2
It installed fine from the repos to my netbook, btw.
Thanks.
Edit: Just installed java plugin as well, with the same results. The browser has been brought down several times, yet it seems FF is still seeing no plugins... hhmmm...
Code: Select all
[root@localhost dedanna]# rpm -qa | grep openjdk
java-1.7.0-openjdk-1.7.0.6-2.3.3.1.mga2
[root@localhost dedanna]#
[root@localhost dedanna]# rpm -qa | grep firefox
firefox-en_ZA-10.0.11-1.mga2
firefox-en_GB-10.0.11-1.mga2
firefox-10.0.11-1.mga2
