Yes it is not working right now so I probably have made a silly mistake again...
Edit: grrr :f this is driving me nuts....
Manjaro 64bit on the main box -Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67GHz and nVidia Corporation GT200b [GeForce GTX 275] (rev a1. + Centos on the server - Arch on the laptop.

Hi guys,

I'm the project coordinator for ArchServer -- glad to see some people are testing and playing with it :)

The server was down for a while due to a router swap at the data center which broke some things. The server runs Arch Linux at the moment, since when the server was built, ArchServer didn't exist! Obviously the plan is to move the server to ArchServer in the future :)

Cheers,
~Phil

Hi fukawi and first off all welcome :greetings This project is interesting so I will be patient +1
I would actually have thought that Arch is a good server too. But I guess rolling release is a bit exotic for a server.
What was driving me nuts is my lacking ability to get phpmyadmin running on Arch-server.

Code: Select all

Access forbidden!

You don't have permission to access the requested object. It is either read-protected or not readable by the server.

If you think this is a server error, please contact the webmaster.

Error 403

I have seen this before and I have fixed this before, but I am and a complete stop here. It might be something obvious (it often is) but I need to populate my databases to go on. :tux5:

Have you edited / removed /srv/http/phpmyadmin/.htaccess? It is included by default to ONLY allow access from localhost (127.0.0.1) to increase the default security level since phpMyAdmin has a history of security problems ;)

Thank you! - moderator put this guy on guru status!
I put

Code: Select all

allow  from 10.0.0.
in there so it still is pretty safe I guess.

Glad it's sorted then. :)

@fukawi2 We'll get your guru status going soon as I can figure out how to. It may be our site admin will have to do it, not sure. Please feel welcome any time you like to Bjoernvold, and thank you for your help in this. :)

Edit: Yeah, you'll have to do it Viking. I'm not seeing it. Either that, or you'll need to tell me what to do.

You don't need to do that.... I was just dropping in to clear up the questions about the server downtime and O/S :D

Right, I get that. But this is one of our favorite times here doing stuff like that. :)

LOL.
Thanks so much for your help. :) It would be great if you would like to stick around. When someone can help the Boss, that's a good thing. :)

Moving this thread to Distro Talk.

This kid has issues with Arch from time to time. Would be great to have another guru 'round for it. LOL.
