This will sync my pc with those superduper atom driven error-free clocks.
I edited /etc/ntp.conf so this section looked like this:
Code: Select all
# Associate to public NTP pool servers; see http://www.pool.ntp.org/
server 0.pool.ntp.org iburst
server 1.pool.ntp.org iburst
server 2.pool.ntp.org iburst
And I left the rest as is.
Now it was time to sync my clock once with:
Code: Select all
ntpd -qg
Uh? And that did not change anything - but berserks don't give up.
So I started the daemon:
Code: Select all
sudo systemctl start ntpd
and voila my clock poped right into the right time which had been several hours off
Time then to make it work on every boot with:
Code: Select all
sudo systemctl enable ntpd
This Manjaro install is getting so perfect now that it is almost boring....
So far I have successfully set up:
- A lamp server with integrated phpmyadmin
SSH connection and network folders with keys and no passwords - (dead secure)
Syncing of the clock with timeservers
Transferring all my critical data from the old install including Windows in Virtualbox
Transferred my mail data and setup.
Installed Openbox and KDE in addition to XFCE
Set up my network printer with cups
