Windows Phone 8.1 is dead.

Postby viking60 » 14 Jul 2017, 21:03

Windows Phone 8.1 is not supported anymore and will not receive any more updates.
Only Windows 10 will be supported in the future.

This is a problem because 80 percent of the Win-Phones out there are 7, 8 or 8.1 so four out of five Win-phone users may have a problem because many of the old phones do not support the new OS.

So the choice will really be to buy a new phone....

Then there is the problem that Windows 10 will only be supported until the autumn of next year...and it is not certain that future Win-Phones can be updated.

Since Windows Phones have 0,3 % of the market there really is no point in developing apps for them either.

Good thing then that the Microsoft Android troll department are making lots of money of Android,,,,because the Windows mobile phones seem to be on their death bed.

More here
Manjaro 64bit on the main box -Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67GHz and nVidia Corporation GT200b [GeForce GTX 275] (rev a1. + Centos on the server - Arch on the laptop.

Dead Bell ringing... why MS keeps supporting/making it is beyond me.

Is embarrasing....
