Windows 10 - Freeze problem

Some computers will freeze after doing the anniversary update for Windows 10.
This seems to be the case for Win installations on SSD and Apps on a regular hard disk.

This situation will not occur if you start Windows using safe mode.



Microsoft also describes how you can reverse the Windows 10 upgrade to avoid the problem

Installation of the Anniversary Update does include the ability to "go back" or return to the previous version of Windows within 10 days of the update. If you are unable to log into Windows 10 and choose to uninstall the Anniversary Update, here are two methods that can be used:

Despite the technical issues above; many might consider the sending of your personal data to Redmond a bigger problem.

This is done to keep the services top notch according to Microsoft so Windows 10 does collect this:

Name, Age, Gender, Country, Language, E-mail-address, Post address, Phone number, Physical address, Hardware components, IP-Addresses, installed Software, Product key, Passwords, used applications, How often you use them, Language and text interaction with Bing and Cortana, Interests and favorites, Contacts and contents of files, Chats and emails.




A Linux desktop would not collect those data.

Basically everything you do on your lap/desktop will wander off to Redmond or the Microsoft cloud and there are no options in Windows 10 to turn that off.

It is hard to believe that European and Asian businesses will allow their data to be transferred out of the house like this.

Before you know it the Americans will be making decent cars again....
