Important OpenSSL fix

Postby viking60 » 09 Jun 2014, 20:58

OpenSSL did still have some flaws that may have been there for a long time. This could potentially influence all Android phones - but only if they communicate with a server that is not patched.
Given the severe nature of this most servers are patched already - Manjaro came with an OpenSSL update today.

There is an critical eye on this code after every heavy weight tech company in the world decided to support the code under the coordination of the Linux foundation.

So finding stuff and eliminate it is a good thing...
Manjaro 64bit on the main box -Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67GHz and nVidia Corporation GT200b [GeForce GTX 275] (rev a1. + Centos on the server - Arch on the laptop.

With Linux, it's not the number of users that makes these bugs easy to find. It's the quality of them, and the fact that they do report bugs. Then, the developers jump so high it's incredible so quickly.
