It will but a button on your browser and once you click it; your IP will change
To install it in Firefox you can search for it in the extensions..

Yes it does not enhance your privacy that much.
The following is absolutely true:
When you are selling a service that claims to protect a users privacy, hence identity, you can’t turn around later and reveal just that to authorities without appearing at least a little insincere.

If the GCHQ want the data; they will get it from Hidemyass - every time.

The problem is that the privacy of the internet and our confidence in it, is of such a great value that we must accept some evils.

It is like money - If you rob the local store you can use that money all over the world. It is essential for the money system that they can flow - without questions.

We cannot start to check where the money are coming from - that would really hold up the line in the supermarket.

The current ambitions of our dear leaders of checking everything we do will have a negative impact on the internet and global communication.

Naturally the politicians used to propaganda will fear it. Propaganda used to work, and consensus of the population could be achieved when done cleverly.
With the internet it takes 10 minutes before someone says and that is bad for our dear elected ones. In the "proper" world they should be able to repeat the messages - unopposed - for such a long time that everybody either did believe it or did not dare to oppose it.

If they dare to let go, the economy would benefit, companies would exchange information. and research would gain from it.

So there is more to gain by not treating everybody as a criminal
