I am not a musician but i am one hell of a singer
I used to sing at weddings, parties, choirs,
ect.
my biggest pet peeve is not people who struggle at singing but those who refuse to sing a song in it's entirety
or change the lyrics to suit themselves.
its OK to embellish a little either tempo, tone or timbre as long as it enhances the music.
BUT lyrics are sacred territory and should never be changed by anyone except by the original author

I have heard many people with fabulous voices ruin the experience of a song by leaving out parts or changing lyrics entirely
to me thats a crime

Well... I just went to see Darryl Hall and John Oats (concert). As much as I like them, Darril changed the lyrics or let us say, added to it. What a f0cking desaster. Their iconic songs, mangeled by themselves. However... Tears for Fear opened for them; they stuck to the original formula and sure worked for them. Yup... even the original writers can f0ck up a song royaly.

Oh, you mean like they do with rap/hip-hop, which I hate?
I also hate remakes.

Hip Hop... Is for people that cannot sing or ever use proper grammar.

Or carry a beat, or make music, or do anything but cuss and rob and be really, really shitty towards women.

Sometimes it's annoying to hear the remix. Making the crap out of the original one is purely insane.

long-standing joke i usually get cussed out for

yappa yappa dip dap,
listen to my lips flap,
I cant sing for crap,
so all I do is Rap!

However, if it's a real crap song, I have absolutely zero problem singing it with made-up comical lyrics.
