Re: OpenMandriva

Well, "OpenMandriva" has been categorically rejected on several grounds from the very beginning (most essential argument against it is that it's a name we must license from Mandriva to use, not one we may freely use as we'd like, ie. in the context of free software where the matter of lice...

Re: OpenMandriva

Heh, funny... ;p I think I answer most stuff in general quite well in my latest post to cooker etc., should be sane and sober enough IMO. For the council, as was decided during last cooker/TC meeting, it doesn't have the right/ability to make any of these decissions for the distribution, as these ne...

Re: OpenMandriva

Hi! For the live installer issues you mention, the installer now comes with a complete busybox environment together with several other tools also provided with it, all built against uClibc, resulting in a quite minimal size, so I think for debugging of installer, it should be less of a problem for p...

Re: OpenMandriva

Re: OpenMandriva

so the system came without drakconf preinstalled?

btw, feedback/bug reports would make it easier for us to follow and be able to address if done on cooker list, ie. not just me(;).

Re: OpenMandriva

The x issues are completely new to me, when installing under vmware it works just fine for me, but I think maybe there's some packages remaining that's not been fixed for latest X yet (I ran into the same for vmware driver myself).. I'll take a look at it and fix before making first beta official to...

Re: OpenMandriva

Meeting just finished, and the cooker development community seems to have consensus on things and know where we all stand on things together. So things looks positive from our side now, next we'll have to resolve the conflicts with the association, something I'm much more positive at that we'll be a...

Re: OpenMandriva

Notice that I'm not in any way discouraging any involvement from users, the association or anything, I've rather been encouraging it. We've laid our vision of how the upcoming release should be, while Mandriva didn't allow us to have the trademark or logo, we do get to keep the rest of the brand wit...

Re: OpenMandriva

"You can point fingers and blame me as much as you'd like, but that's not really a very efficient tactic at trying to make us join and be controlled by something we don't recognize as fit to do so." I've done nothing but observe. I'm not trying to make anyone do anything. I don't see evid...

Re: OpenMandriva

"So basically you're implying me being a liar just because discussions you haven't been involved with or follow internal discussions?" I say that the evidence of my eyes does not lead me to believe everything that is said, including what you say. Again, with indirect allusions to secret k...
