Re: FBI: Surveillance program could have prevented 9/11
Do not trust polls, they are rigged. Yes, well polls are written in ways to produce desired results. Additionally, a critical thinker would probably take issue with a poll of only 1000 Why do you think the whistleblower did not provide credible information? My post was about sloppy journalism, for ...

Re: FBI: Surveillance program could have prevented 9/11
There is a slight US majority accepting this: http://www.people-press.org/files/2013/06/6-10-13-3.png But since there is no information there cannot be a clear understanding of what they actually are accepting. It gives the broad picture though. Is it possible to rule out that the NSA can and has i...

Re: Manjaro an easy "Arch" for the common user?
That is one serious Linux advocate. :s  Considering trying this again. Since I had trouble with the KDE community release, do I understand correctly a viable route to KDE would be to install the official XFCE version and install task-kde-minimal, after? Also, I miss the Mandrake/Mandriva choi...

Re: Installing Manjaro on my main box
Also, I was almost ready to go back to Manjaro/Arch because of another problem on Mageia 3. I would not think it probable but, just in case:

Re: Installing Manjaro on my main box
Well, on the printer, I rely on it, it worked fine, before, and I'm not in a position to be throwing gold at random new printers to solve a software problem. :greetings For your ssh problem, I'm no expert but have encountered some failed connections on new installations. ISTR the solution lay in /et...

Re: Extortion against users of non "six strikes" ISP's
This is concerning and not too fantastic but a little more evidence is needed. :gimme I followed the link in your graphic along to the Reddit thread and I think there is still some controversy about this claim. To be sure, as a simple magazine reader, I didn't do an exhaustive search. ;) At this poi...

Re: US mines personal internet data
For one thing, the scope of the surveillance tends to be widely and wildly mischaracterized. For another, this program was put in place during the Bush administration, in response to 9/11, and only exists by authority of bi-partisan and robust Congressional support. "Big O" is not the auth...

Re: Installing Manjaro on my main box
Thank you, really, for all the help. :greetings At the moment, I've taken the plunge for Mageia 3 64-bit, mounted all my partitions over here, including my /home. As I set up my Mageia user with same name, password, and uid, it just works to use my old files (knock on wood). So, far, except I have t...

Re: Installing Manjaro on my main box
Clearly, I have no proper words for @ :bowlol https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1286780/images/vikingt.png However, @ dedanna, I'm running MGA 3 in my sandbox and have got the printer working, it seems. I had freezes in KDE that seemed very much like what you and others described in that 3-page th...
