Re: Wireless issue (AGAIN), Mageia 5

Re: Is this a possible goodbye to C and C++ programming?

What I am very defensive with Microsoft using/ colaborating on Open Source codes. Mark my words... they are a cancer, a parasite, once they invade the host they will asimilate the host like the Borg. At the end, those small pieces of codes can be "copywrited". You are not seen it right no...

Is this a possible goodbye to C and C++ programming?

I sure hope so. I hate that they use it in Linux. To me, C, C+, and C++ are the bains of computing existence, straight from Satan himself. The majority of vulnerabilities fixed and with a CVE assigned are caused by developers inadvertently inserting memory corruption bugs into their C and C++ code. ...

Re: Wireless issue (AGAIN), Mageia 5

The problem being, that my phone doesn't detect usb very well. I've tried several times with different flash sticks, with no luck. :(
I'm going to have to go to the library, I guess, but I have the other issues to sort out first.

Re: Help! I did a very dumb thing!

Well, I got a Mageia 5.1 disk done, and it boots to it now, but then sits there at a blank screen with a blinking cursor. :-P

New Linux distro being released

Endeavor OS -- When the Antergos Linux project closed up shop, the community that blossomed around it decided it wasn’t going anywhere. Within weeks, an idea was hatched to keep the spirit of Antergos alive by designing a new Arch-based distribution that was easy to install, with a helpful and frien...

Re: Help! I did a very dumb thing!

If you need me to, I can break each issue down to separate threads, but they all came from attempting to upgrade (not sure on the BIOS though), so, *shrug
May be best to deal with BIOS and urpmi/rpm first?

Help! I did a very dumb thing!

I tried to upgrade my old HP laptop that the wireless isn't working on from Mageia 5 to Mageia 7 by setting local resources (repos) to the rpms on the install disk to upgrade with. The problem is the upgrade (using urpmi --auto-select) stalled very quickly, so I cancelled it, and now Houston, we hav...

Re: First truly open-source smartphone

Note the "ed" at the end of "Disabl". They are disabled. They're not saying that they are enabled, or that they are not disabled. You can disable them right there in Applications (which is where those screen shots come from). From there, they will take absolutely no room on your ...

Re: Wireless issue (AGAIN), Mageia 5

Without wireless, I can't get to the Windows drivers. I'm going to have to figure something out.
I have other issues with this. Will need to start a new thread when I can.
