Re: Bitcoin Heist

Like they said, poor security (and clever thieves). Not the first case anyway, last year there was a case when the thief had physical access to the PC where the coins were stored. Lots of BTC were stolen, enough to drag that exchange down. It was not the Bitcoin itself the weak link but rather the s...

Re: Linux the gaming platform!

Well, is better than I thought. I have Steam (Linux version) installed and I can tell you that it looks and behaves the same with its Windows counterpart although is only a beta version. I used Steam keys previously bought with Humble Bundle and installed some games which are running just fine. If t...

Re: Well, well, well... Amarok 1.4.10

You are being mysterious again :naughty: As you have learned in School you must always elaborate the reason for those dynamic statements. Are you unhappy with the development of Amarok? Do not know about dedanna but I was really unhappy about it. But to tell the truth I have no idea what is new in ...

Re: Beastie Boys Co-Founder Adam Yauch Dead at 47

This sucks. I´m not much into that kind of music but I always liked them. They seem to be much more than the others.
Curious thing, I was just thinking about them few days ago, why are they silent...

Re: A real Linuxer!

Remember when you had to download Nvidia’s Unix driver source code, drop to runlevel 3, type some archaic commands to compile it and then reboot the computer?

Um...what? But I still do that. :o

Re: PCLOS

Production environment...I would go with Suse in this case, they seem solid enough to me. I'm not gonna search the net to confirm it but I think that Suse (Enterprise) is the main OS deployed on those insane supercomputers. That's kinda a nice reputation :) Yes, it's a risk involved when we're talki...

Re: PCLOS

I have always heard that Texstar needs to be worshiped and that the community is expected to do some serious grovelling. Well, personally I don't think he needs that or that he wants it. He's a very nice and funny man...good sense of humor. He is helpful and he does listen to users. I don't know ho...

Re: PCLOS

But I believe you do not get 64 bit in PCLOS? They are working on it. There is a big 32 bit partisan camp there and indeed for a very long time there was no 64 bit version. It didn't bother me since I also use only 32 bit on whatever distro but it did bother some newcomers...possibly many gave up o...

Anyway, I still don't like this current offer, it pales in comparison with first ones.

Re: Gaming: Desura client can become open source

By a coincidence I just installed Desura last night. Installed few games and they all working very good, the client itself also is very nice and polished. There is a Linux Gamers clan you can join if you want to. Not too many games you can choose from but some are solid games (Penumbra, Amnesia, Oil...
