It is really fast and light It is based on Mandriva. It has the control panel (yes the MCC). It is just a core to build your own distro, but I find it complete enough to run it on a laptop as is.
No bloat here. It is just user friendly and fast. It even is fast in Virtualbox It uses the smart package manager and it can use the Mandriva repos. It is not a PCLOS based distro as many seem to think. When wifi works 100% there is nothing else you want on your laptop with limited resources.

Is there a difference between using their repos and using Mandriva's?

Have been keeping an eye on Unity lately. Seems interesting.

I just use them all. I figure it is a SMART package manager so it has to earn it's reputation Amazingly everything is running smothly.

Even the sound is good in Virtualbox.

Yeah I installed webin from Cooker PLF free (86_64). No problem. Smart is good at checking dependencies so it stops me when I try to fubar my system.
