Re: Certified Booting - big Linux problem
Thanks, Boss!
I'd rather be a free person who fears terrorists, than be a "safe" person who fears the government.

Re: Certified Booting - big Linux problem
All I can say the Patent is granted by the Gov so if they go belly up so the Patent.
Re: Certified Booting - big Linux problem
What patent?
This is about the Microsoft infesting HW with their Certification Key - to the extent that it will be unusable for Linux and other OS'es.
Secure Certified Booting is no problem (and no patent as far as I can tell). And Linux can handle UEFI. But Microsoft is "motivating" the Hardware industry to lock the hardware down to their key.
They are just making claims that will have that effect and they cannot be bothered to consider Linux.
With their usual innocent shoulder shrugging How very unfair to blame them, when the HW industry has decided to do it like that etc. etc. bla bla.....

Re: Certified Booting - big Linux problem
I bet they will come out with some BS patent to back it up. All they are doing so far is fight in Court World instead of the Tech World
