Location,Location,Location

Postby viking60 » 15 Mar 2011, 03:25

ImageGoogle's Merissa Mayer says that the future will all be about Location.
Basically if you don't know where you are and what train to enter; Google and your smartphone will know, and tell you!
Hmm.. makes me wonder who else will know.....
And it does not stop there:
The new "contextual discovery" will even supply you with information of the name of the bird that just flew past your window:
“Contextual discovery,” allows for smarter search results and better answers to questions. For instance, if you saw a bird outside SxSW and wanted to know what it was, Google could use the contextual information that you’re in Austin and it’s March, to narrow down the possibilities.

If you wonder what toilet paper you are using on that restaurant toilet - Google will know!
It is scary that everybody thinks this is fantastic - and wants it.
Time to take a breather and analyze a bit
Where could this end?

Yup. It's why I have no phone, cell or otherwise, that is a "smart" anything, and will never purchase one. I have a cell phone that does what it's supposed to: It makes phone calls. Last I heard, that's why it's called a "phone". If I want an effing computer where I'm at, I'll take an effing computer (which I don't, because I flat refuse to live my life through one). If I want to watch t.v., I watch my t.v. If I want to play a game, I have my consoles for that.

Insofar as using google online, good luck to them, from the developers of Tor.

Yup that all in one crap makes everything bad. And dangerous! But she is cute so there can be no bad motives involved.
I guess Eve looked cute too when she offered Adam the Apple.
But then again Women think Steve Jobs looks cute too, when he offers his Apple to them. :-D
The road to hell is paved with gold - and is tempting ... as hell....

Yeah. And I think Jobs is ugly as sin. No different from any other suit, really, to me. I hate the look.

Smart Phones, Facebook, Tweeter, OnStar and even the Kinect (eyes in your house)? I think we have enough eyes on us.

Some are imposed some are self-imposed...

I have a Blackberry Bold 9000 with a GPS and is turned off most of the time.
Another thing is that you can use Google Maps and Tag someone with their phones.

Is a double edge sword and both sides are sharp as heck!

Eventually we all be tagged. :f

The way to accomplish that is so easy.

Take the people and drill in their feeble heads they are in danger; create a Boogie Man, remind them everyday the danger is afoot and come later to the rescue. Restore order; everybody will follow.
Is that awesome?

Just like the "terror threat level" business. A bunch of lies and FUD so everyone is preying on fear. :P
