Windows 11 Pause updates option grayed out  Topic is solved

Houston, we have a problem. On my Windows 11 laptop, in Settings-->Windows Update, the "Pause updates" button is all of a sudden grayed out, so I can't pause updates (and I need to, I'm having issues with them - for the first time on this box). I've been searching the inet all day tryig to find a fix. Some say use Group Policy Editor, which I can't because I have Home edition, or a registry edit fix here (scroll the page). The problem with that, is that registry key doesn't exist in my registry. In fact, I've searched the whole registry for "update" (without the quotes), and there are literally no results.

Anyone know what to do? Would an update do this?

Thanks.

Interesting. I just fixored the pause updates option being grayed out. I went to Advanced Options/Optional Updates/Driver updates. There was a firmware update there. I chose to install it, and I can now pause updates. I have no clue how that fixed it, but it did.
